Obamas Leave Martha’s Vineyard, Head To New Orleans For Katrina Anniversary (PHOTOS)

The vacation is over for the first family. They left sunny Martha’s Vineyard Sunday morning, first stopping at the Cape Cod Coast Guard station, according to pool reports.

The first lady and president greeted well-wishers, including 87-year-old World War II veteran Jack Dugan. The president then shouted to school-age children “Have fun at school!”

The first family then headed to New Orleans to commemorate the 5th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina. They arrived shortly before noon. Read more about Obama’s New Orleans visit here.

The Obamas enjoyed an 11-day vacation on Martha’s Vineyard, filled with bike riding (with helmets!), lunch at local restaurant Nancy’s, dinner at Sweet Life Caf and State Road Restaurant and book-shopping on a rainy day.
